DESCRIPTION:Register Now! \n\nJanuary 10–15\, 2027\n\nPerry Holloman and Johanna Holloman\nFor exact Date and Time details\, visit the Register button link above.\n \n\nAbout this workshop\nDeep Bodywork®\, when applied with great sensitivity\, is one of the most effective healing modalities available to the professional bodyworker. It combines the integrating qualities of flowing massage with therapeutic deep tissue work to promote relaxation\, restore tissue health\, and support long-term structural change. Developed by the Hollomans over the course of 40 years\, the form emerged from the knowledge brought to and created at Esalen in the ’60s and ’70s by early bodywork masters. \nThrough Deep Bodywork techniques\, practitioners can enter the deeper soft tissue layers\, freeing previously dense\, hardened areas that may be chronically painful due to a lack of fluid exchange and energy flow. As these areas soften and “re-organize\,” chronic tension patterns release\, revitalizing living tissues with blood\, lymph\, and chi (life) energy. \nWith a clear curriculum and moves designed for easy integration into any practice\, we’ll focus on intermediate and advanced deep tissue techniques blended with Esalen® Massage to enhance the therapeutic skills of practicing bodyworkers\, including massage therapists\, acupuncturists\, physiotherapists\, and chiropractors. We will learn effective Deep Bodywork techniques on the entire body\, integrating them with the presence-based long strokes characteristic of Esalen Massage. This creates a powerful blend of structural change and pain management with deep relaxation and integration. \nEmphasis will be placed on proper body mechanics so practitioners can learn to work with a sense of inner ease and avoid placing unnecessary stress on their own bodies. We’ll also explore how these techniques can complement other healing modalities in the treatment of soft tissue pain for a multidisciplinary approach to pain relief and functional restoration. Previous massage experience is recommended for this workshop. \nNotes: \n\nParticipants should have prior hands-on experience giving bodywork (massage\, somatic work\, or related modalities) and be physically capable of both giving and receiving deeper touch over multiple sessions.\n*30 CEUs are available through the NCBTMB\, provided by Deepbodywork® LLC for bodyworkers. Cultivating trust and openness with a loved one\, whether with an intimate partner or friend\, is an essential aspect of any successful\, supportive relationship. \nThis weekend\, Perry and Johanna Holloman\, intimate partners and friends for over 30 years\, will share the most effective tools and practices they have developed to nurture their connection to each other. \nThe primary tool Perry and Johanna will share is called Gestalt Inquiry. This easy-to-learn\, powerful practice provides a safe context for exploring the most meaningful and sensitive aspects of relationships. Perry and Johanna like to think of it as a practice that becomes a continuing part of any successful long-term relationship because it places high value on compassion\, respect\, and love of truth. As we learn to discover and safely express what is true for us\, individually\, as a couple\, or as friends\, we deepen our heart’s capacity for intimacy and connection\, which leads to a more fulfilling and meaningful shared life. \nDuring our time together\, you will learn practices and resources to integrate into your everyday life\, such as: \n\nEmbodied practices involving movement\, breath\, meditation\, and awareness to develop a sense of palpable presence as the foundation upon which your relationship can flourish.\nThe Art of Conscious Communication: learning to care as much about understanding our partner and what they’re communicating as we care about being heard and understood by them.\nHow to express needs\, feelings\, and appreciations in an attuned manner to deepen relational trust.\nUnderstanding the “distancing behaviors” we engage in\, usually as an unconscious form of defense against vulnerability and contact.\nLearning to co-regulate each other in structured exercises\, emphasizing compassion and respect so presence-based relating naturally arises.\n\nThis workshop is for couples of all genders and sexual orientations.
